GENERAL INFORMATION:

St. Michael’s Academy, established and administered by The Esplanade St. Michael Educational Society.(Registered under West Bengal Act xxvi of 1961 and West Bengal Societies Registration rules, 1963), through the School Managing committee, property constituted by the society, is recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education as an English medium, Co-educational High School and prepares its students for the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination). A strong and influential body of Governors control the affairs of the Academy. Young people belonging to every social class, community and linguistic group are taught through the medium of English and other regional languages. This institute is a part of the Muslim Community’s effort to share the country’s educational undertaking.

 

AIMS OF THE INSTITUTION:


To mould the students in a manner so that they are imbued with the four characteristics which form the basis of an ideal character : vitality, courage, sensitiveness and intelligence and to teach them to make national greatness the supreme purpose of education.
 

DISCIPLINE & SUSPENSION:

1) Students found speaking in any language other than English will be punished. Conversation in vernacular allowed only during the first language classes. Students found loitering outside the school premises before, during or after school hours are liable to be punished.
2) The cost of repair of any kind of damage done to the school property by a student must be borne by the parents of the students concerned.
3) Students absent on the day before the examination/ test will not be allowed to appear for the examination/ test unless the parents have seen the Headmaster / Headmistress.
4) If the child is late thrice in a month he/she will be suspended from school for a week. Habitual latecomers will be allowed to attend classes only after their parents meet the Headmaster/ Headmistress.
